Production blog - lights, camera, action!

Hey everyone, today’s blog is an eventful one! Over the past days I’ve had a great time filming with my group. Starting on Monday it was an early release day at school so my group went home with me. I changed out of my school clothes and into shorts and a top and so did everyone else to fit the setting. The first scene my group and I shot was the car scene in my dad’s Range Rover. First Emerson took a picture of everyone in the car to put in our photo book, which was going to be the first scene. Then the actual filming started. One shot was an over the shoulder of Emerson turning on the radio. The other was everyone in the car having fun and laughing. After recording these clips my group and I walked over to the mall which is right by my house. I took them to the entrance with the Dillard’s store and we decided to film in there. Lindsay, Emerson, and I pretended to shop for clothes while Kemora filmed. After my group went to the H&M and shot more pretend shopping.

Following the mall my friends and I went back to my house and changed into pajamas to start filming the movie scene. Which consisted of everyone in my living room watching a movie. I turned on a flashing light background to make it seem like the group was watching a scary movie. It was a funny scene to record and I had a lot of fun. To conclude the day everyone changed into dresses and my dad dropped the group off at the bridge that goes over the Intracoastal. Even though it was windy the sunset was beautiful and I was able to record some great clips. The next morning my group and I went to the beach. Though it was very windy and the waves were unruly I decided to still shoot. Lindsay and Kemora got some cool clips of the group running along the sand, playing volleyball, and just interacting with one another. Finally my group stopped into a beach souvenir store. I had the idea to do a montage of all of us trying on hats in the same spot so the setting was the same but the people changed if that make senses. Overall this has been quite a busy two days and I got so much filming done! The music video is coming out so cute and I can’t wait to see how it comes together. :)
