Production blog - that’s a wrap!

      Hi all! Welcome to the final production blog. Today was the last day of filming and we got a lot done. Since school ended at 11:40 today I went home with Emerson and stopped at Zona Fresca (a Mexican restaurant). The group had lunch and also filmed us eating as a group at the table pretending to have a normal conversation. Then everyone went to Emerson’s house and first filmed the photo book scene. I was in charge of the photo book scene however my printer of course decided to stop working as soon as I needed it. Thankfully Lindsay was able to print out and create the photo album. It turned out super cute and we used it as a prop to film the intro and outro of the music video. After Emerson packed a bag with props for the rest of the scenes and walked to Starbucks which was not far from her house. Here my group and I recreated a studying session. Obviously everyone all got drinks since their holiday menu just came out! Unfortunately right before my group and I were about to film Emerson forgot the most important thing; the tripod. So Lindsay and Emerson rushed back to the house and grabbed it. After Kemora set up the tripod and the group used my notebooks, pens, paper, and Kemora’s headphones as props to simulate a group studying. Kemora also had the idea to shoot an establishing shot in front of the starbucks so Emerson, Lindsay, and I pretended to be in a conversation while she filmed the two other girls and I walking out.

     Moving on my group and I walked to Emerson’s community pool and while everyone didn’t have time to actually go swimming Kemora and I stuck our feet in the water while Emerson and Lindsay talked on the lounge chairs and it still made a nice scene. Next was the tennis court. It was then when I realized the video was missing a few camera shots including a dutch. So Kemora took a dutch angle of the tennis court and the group playing tag. Finally the park, here my group and I filmed a low angle and a tilt. The low angle was of Emerson sliding down the slide. The tilt was of Emerson, Lindsay, and I running in the field. That was all! I can’t believe I am finished with filming this project all that left is to finish editing and I am so exited for the finished project and for everyone to see it.
