Production blog - Preparing and checking out locations

Hi all! Welcome back, throughout the past time since my last blog not many significant changes have been made filming wise. My group and I have not started filming yet however I have been planning, preparing, and researching the locations we are going to be using prior to filming. I started by informing my dad about our filming plan and making sure it was okay to film in our house and use the car. I have also discussed with my group the driving scenes. In the beginning of the plot there is a car scene which will show the characters driving to the restaurant. The decision that needs to be made is whether my friends and I will actually drive there by ourselves in real life since we all have our licenses or if my Dad will drive us. I asked my Dad whether ny group and I were allowed to drive to the locations at night by ourselves and he said he will have to think about it so that it still something being discussed. As for the other locations this past weekend I went to the beach and was able to look at the restaurant I was going to be filming at and it matches the plot perfectly. There is some seating outside on the beach that will be perfect for the scenes my group needs to film. I also asked the restaurant workers if filming was allowed and they said it should be fine but to ask again on the day I go to film as a precaution.

In order to prepare for the scenes I also went to the mall and bought a few things. One including a new summer dress for the restaurant scenes. I also went and bought some supplies for the props. Such as a small bottle that can be used to replicate the fake poison that my group will be using. I informed my group members that I was going to the store and also picked up some other items they might individually need for filming. Additionally I started looking over the script to start becoming more familiar with my role. As I am going to have to remember my lines without looking or acting, memorizing the character’s lines and actions are important. Overall the idea is to start filming very soon and progress into the editing of the actual movie. See you all in the next blog!
