Production blog - Roll the camera!
Hello everyone! My group and I started filming today and got some notable progress done. Since it was a weekday and a school night. I was unable to film the night scenes at the beach/restaurant or the car scenes. However, my group was able to shoot the house scenes, car scene and ending scene. The filming started after school when my group members came home with me. Once my group and I arrived at my house everyone went inside. Just coming home from school, I decided to take a break before I started filming since it was a long day at school. My group and I changed and had some snacks. Once it was around 4 pm I asked everyone if they were ready to film and everybody seemed content to start. Emerson brought her tripod which made it easier to film. The first scene that had to be shot was the getting ready scene. To prepare, everyone brought their costume which was a sundress and changed into it. Expect for Lindsay since in this scene her dress has a red stain on it which raises suspicion. So, I took some red dye and water and created a small red stain to replicate "blood" since she is the killer. Don't worry in can be easily washed out in the washer!
After, everyone got into my bathroom, and everyone pretended to get ready to go to dinner. Such as putting on makeup, using hair products, and just personal grooming. Emerson set up her tripod at the front of my bathroom facing the side of everyone. At first I decided to use my phone to film since I have the newest phone. However it was a bit too wide to fit the tripod and was unstable. So Emerson volunteered to use her phone. My group and I took multiple shots/angles and played out the scenes and dialogue accordingly. After the bathroom scenes were completed, I moved onto the hallway scenes where everybody was putting their shoes on and getting ready to leave. It was a simple and quick scene where everyone was showed putting their shoes up and heading towards the door. I got my dad to say his dialogue of telling us bye. Finally my group and I went to target and filmed Lindsay picking out a weapon for the end scene. Finally, filming has begun, and I am excited with how it is looking, I can't wait to show you all it. Bye!
