Reflection

      Hi it’s Mela and this is my reflection blog! Overall making my project was a fun and creative process.  

What new technology did I learn to use?

       I learned many new techniques and skills in class and on my own. Such as learning how to embed code, adding transitions, text, and even learning to film different angles when I was filming my intro/outro. Additionally using different apps like Capcut to combine clip. Videoleap to edit music making it sound smoother. Along with Vont to add texts/captions to the commercial. Also adding transitions onto the text which is something new I learned. The use of all these elements helped me create a commercial I am very proud of. 

What did I learn about the process of putting a project together?

     Beyond the editing and technology I also learned the process of creating a project/media. A big key of making my commercial I realized was time management. Time goes by a fast between making blogs, filming, and editing. Otherwise it’s easy to get stressed out or be behind on work. So making time for each of these tasks is important in these projects. I found the best way to get my work done timely was working on my commercial a little every day. That way I made progress on my commercial and also had enough information to write about in my blog. 

What do you think you can do to make the next project better

Well fortunately I didn’t run into any technical difficulties there were some things I could improve. For one I wish I used a different ratio for my video. The ratio I chose didn’t fit the youtube ratio so it was zoomed out. So next project I am going to do a 16:9 ratio to fit the youtube screen. I also need to manage my time better and figure it out what I want to do. When I started my commercial I kept changing my plan. Such as adding an intro changing the photos and videos etc. Instead next project I should be set about what I want to do and make a general plan that I stick with. 

What did I enjoy about this project? 

       Some things I enjoyed about this project is being able to express my creativity and own ideas. Such as formatting the commercial how I wanted, (ordering of media, creating an intro, text fonts, etc.). I also enjoyed being able to pick out the photos and videos that I wanted as well as picking the song. It helped create a theme and personalized my project in having the ability to choose how I wanted to create it without having to follow strict guidelines. I also liked getting back into editing since I hadn’t edited in a while so working on a project like this was fun. Furthermore I liked sharing my commercial with others and vice versa seeing my friends commercials. Everyones commercial was so individually unique and represents a preview into each persons life.
