         Hi it's Mela, welcome back! Throughout the process of selecting the media I wanted to use for my commercial I had one main goal in mind and that was to pick out stuff that represented me and I was passionate about. For my photos I chose photos that illustrated things that were important to me. Such as, a picture from the day I adopted my dog Blu who was only a puppy, not to mention I was also very young myself. I also picked a photo of me playing soccer when I was about 8 to show how long I have been playing for and my dedication to sticking to it. Additionally another picture I chose is of my mom and I in Trinidad I chose this because my mom is very important to me and she’s an incredible mom. Trinidad is also where my mom is from and it’s one of my favorite places to visit and see my family. Speaking of places I also enjoy going to the beach so I wanted to make sure I included some photos of the beach. One of the photographs is of me at the beach with my cousins, dad, and uncle. Me and cousins are very young and I thought it was a cute photo as I love both my cousins and the beach. The last photo I picked is a photo of my friends and I at my friends house right before homecoming. I love my friends and this photo displayed a nice memory of me and my friends at one of our first ever high school events. 

        Moving onto my videos, I wanted to pick videos that embodied memories and showed glimpses of me and who I am. The first video I picked was a very old video of some of my friends and I doing a fashion show for our parents. I thought this video was hilarious and sentimental and even contributes to my passion for fashion in a way. The second piece of media I chose was of me in paris in front of Eiffel tower at night while it was sparkling, my parents like traveling a lot and I have been fortunate enough to travel to various different countries. Finally the last video I decided to include in my commercial was of my best friends and I on a roller coaster and it is very funny because one of my friends is screaming and i’m laughing, and it showcases a really funny moment between me and my friends. 

         Finally the songs I picked are LOVE. by Kendrick Lamar, featuring Zacari. I first heard this song when I was on a road trip to visit my grandma in Sarasota Florida and I randomly came across it while listening to music and I loved it. This was years ago and to this day I still love this song because it is very calming and makes me think of my grandma who passed away in 2021. The second song I picked was Island in the sun by Weezer. I heard this song when I was kid while watching one of my favorite childhood movies, Aquamarine. I always liked the song and it reminded me of summer and positive energy. That's it for this blog see you in the next one!

Production blog - Filming is done!

    Hello bloggers and welcome back! My group and I have finished our filming process. I filmed today on saturday and filmed the car, restaurant and beach scenes. It started by my friends coming over around 12. While the plan was shot at the beach at night due to it being spring break Lindsay’s parents did not want her at the beach at night I had to make changes. I told everyone to bring the same costumes from before. Once everyone arrived my group and I changed into our costumes which was the sun dresses. Then my group first started in the car. In order to film the dialogue films I made sure the car was parked as it would be dangerous to try to act while driving. I took a short clip when my group was actually driving as a quick clip to add.           Hey bloggers it's Mela again! Hope you are having a great day! Recently I've started to work on my commercial about me. My first step was downloading the materials necessary to create my commercial. As mentioned in my introduction blog I am familiar with some editing software already such as Imovie and Capcut. However, I decided to download some new apps with different features to create a more unique commercial. Videoleap, VLLO, and Vont are all the new apps I installed to work on my commercial or other projects in the future. After downloading the apps, I wanted, I started planning the order in which I wanted my commercial to be. However, before that, I decided to edit my photos and videos to make them how I liked. I did this by shortening some of the videos to my desired length.          After, I adjusted the effects of the videos such as the brightness, exposure, saturation, etc. I did the same for my photos.
